Manchester United stun PSG in incredible Champions League victory

Ole Gunnar Solskjær's side overturned a 2-0 deficit from the first leg at Old Trafford to create history in Paris.

Manchester United are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after an incredible 3-1 win away at Paris Saint-Germain, in a night that will rank with one of the best in the club's history.

No side in the history of the Champions League have ever come back from a 2-0 home defeat to progress to the next round. United did so in style, with an injury list that included Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez and Phil Jones, among others.

It was a stoppage-time penalty from Marcus Rashford that settled the tie after a contentious VAR decision penalised Presnel Kimpembe for a handball.

A third-minute goal from Romelu Lukaku after rounding Gianluigi Buffon to slot home from an acute angle opened the scoring.

Then, in a moment that looked to have ended the tie, Juan Bernat equalised for the Parisians soon afterwards.

However, Lukaku scored his second of the evening after Buffon spilled a long-range Marcus Rashford shot into his path.

United contained PSG in an increasingly nervous stadium, before introducing academy duo Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood for their Champions League debut - the latter being the youngest to appear for United in the competition at 17 years, five months and five days.

United were patient in their play, and a disjointed PSG eventually succumbed to a hammer blow from Rashford.

Football, bloody hell.
