Moran returns to play Clare as Kerry hand out 3 first Championship starts

Three Kerry players will make their first Championship starts in Saturday's Munster Football Championship quarter-final with Clare.

Goalkeeper Kieran Fitzgibbon gets the nod ahead of Shane Ryan.

Beaufort's Mike Breen starts at right wing-forward, while Paudie Clifford starts among the forwards along with his brother David.

Peter Keane has made one change to the side that trounced Tyrone in their final Allianz Football League Division 1 game.

David Moran returns to midfield in place of Adrian Spillane.

The latter is part of a strong substitutes bench that also includes Tadhg Morley, Killian Spillane and Tommy Walsh.

While offering full respect to underdogs Clare, Keane says his side are eager to atone for last year's dramatic loss to Cork in the Munster semi-finals.

"You’re definitely on a high-wire here," Keane told reporters, There is no safety net here with no backdoor, it is killed or be killed on the day

"There appeared to be a lot of criticism after the [Cork] game, there was a feeling that we set out over defensively, I wouldn’t necessarily go along with that but you take different approaches to different games, in 2019 we went at teams and we did that again in 2020, we’re going at teams again in 2021 where we can.

"Sometimes you have to mix and match, tactics change all the time”.
