Mayo and Dublin to renew rivalry in All-Ireland final after westerners hammer Tipperary

Mayo and Dublin will once again meet in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final.

That's after James Horan's side beat Tipperary on a scoreline of 5-20 to 3-13 at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.

Cillian O'Connor finished up with 4-09 to his name on a wonderful day for the Ballintubber clubman in a man-of-the-match performance.

His brother Diarmuid also found the back of the net for the Green and Red just before half-time, tapping in a long ball from the older brother.

In tough conditions at HQ, with dense fog affecting visibility, Mayo were simply far too strong and led from the opening score.

Their turn-overs were impressive and they dominated in possession.

In all, eight of their players got themselves on the scoresheet.

Special mention must also go to Mayo goalkeeper David Clarke who made some great saves in both halves.

It will concern James Horan though how often his keeper was forced into making these saves.

Also, one can't imagine any side beating Dublin conceding 3-13, their defence certainly needs work.

In a year like no other though, with no fans and surely less hype, could Mayo have a final like no other and at last end the 69 year wait for Sam Maguire?

We'll see on Saturday 19th December.
