With a chance to win the Green Jacket for the first time on Sunday, Dustin Johnson says he is focused on sticking to his gameplan for the final round.
The third round leader - who one major championship to his name, the 2016 US Open - holds the lead on 16-under par, four shots clear of a group of three players including Sungjae Im, Abraham Ancer and Cameron Smith.
Johnson's flawless round of 65 yesterday - including an eagle three on the par-five second - helped establish some daylight between him and the rest of the field.
"I've been playing really well, so I just needed to get a few putts to drop," Johnson told Sky Sports after his third round.
"On two, I hit a really good shot in there for a tap in for eagle, on three I made a nice eight or nine footer, obviously four was kind of a bonus to make a thirty footer, but it was a really good day."
The American has maintained some excellent form in 2020, with wins at the Travelers Championship, Northern Trust Open and the Tour Championship.
He says he is keen to stick to his Augusta gameplan over the course of the final round.
"I've been swinging well all week, I know if I can just get it in the fairway I'm going to give myself a lot of good chances at birdie so today even getting off to a good start, I just tried to stay patient and be aggressive when I could, when I was really comfortable with the numbers I had I'd play aggressive. If I wasn't I'd play a little bit away from the flag to try and leave myself a good putt for birdie."
Many would argue that Johnson has failed to get the major return his play in recent years may have warranted, but he is hopeful of clinching a second major title today.
"I've just got to go out and execute," he said of his plan for the fourth round.
"I've got a game plan and I'm going to stick to it, hopefully I can execute it tomorrow and shoot a nice number.
"The game is in good shape and I feel confident in what I'm doing."
Johnson tees off at 2.29pm Irish-time this afternoon.
Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy resumes from eight-under at 1.56pm alongside Brooks Koepka and Tommy Fleetwood.
Shane Lowry, paired with Tiger Woods in the opening two rounds, is alongside the 15-time major winner again today from 1.12pm. Both tee off from five-under-par.
