WATCH: Minamino and Jones on the double as Liverpool thrash Lincoln

Liverpool set up a mouthwatering Carabao Cup 4th round tie with Arsenal by hammering Lincoln City.

On a night when fringe players were asked to stand up, Takumi Minamino and Curtis Jones both scored twice in a 7-2 win away to the League One high-flyers.

Xherdan Shaqiri opened the scoring for Liverpool at the LNER Stadium with a peach of a free-kick after just 9-minutes.

Another of Jurgen Klopp's prodigal sons - Marko Grujic - also got on the score sheet, firing home low from the edge of the box.

Captain for the night Divock Origi completed the rout.

Lincoln kept the Premier League champions honest with two second half goals - the second of which saw Adrian doing his best David James impression from a corner.

At the Etihad it was a night to remember for Liam Delap.

The 17-year old son of former Republic of Ireland international Rory Delap scored the opener and the winner in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

Sam Surridge had levelled for the Championship side after a fine turn and finish.

City will be away to Burnley in round 4.

Aston Villa eased past Bristol City to set up a 4th round meeting with Michael O'Neill's Stoke City.

Ahmed el-Ghazi and Bertrand Traore found the net within three-minutes of one another to put Villa 2-0 ahead inside the first quarter-hour at Ashton Gate.

Summer signing Ollie Watkins made it 3-0 with 17-minutes to go.
