Team 33 | "It's never more apparent to you than when you see people in full white HAZMAT suits"

Johnny McKinstry has taken a panoramic view of coaching in world football.

Still only 33-years-old, the Lisburn native has already been manager of the Sierra Leone and Rwanda national teams as well as managing a club in Lithuania and is now head coach of Saif Sporting Club in Bangladesh which is where he joined me on Skype.

The Northern Irishman chatted to Team 33 about how he ended up taking on that globe-trotting managerial career, including having to contend with the Ebola crisis while in charge of Sierra Leone.

"The seriousness of the situation was very clear and that's never more apparent to you than when you see people in full white HAZMAT suits walking up the street because they have to go and address a situation of someone who's either died of the disease or whatever it happens to be," he said.

"And when you see that, you're very clear of the seriousness of the environment you find yourself in but equally the Ebola disease is one of contact and so it's not an airborne disease, so anything that is contact based is something that you can, if you're careful, in some ways control.

"So the thing in Sierra Leone, is there was chlorine handwash outside every place of business, every restaurant and it was more of a curfew situation."
