It was always going to be an interesting year for Leeds United - even without a spying furore.
2019 is their centenary year and as things stand in the Championship table, it's their best chance of returning to the Premier League since their painful relegation of 2004.
On these shores of course, Leeds does capture its fair share of attention. Ireland legend John Giles, who joins us on Off The Ball every Thursday is considered an all-time Leeds great.
And that era when another one of our former Irish internationals, David O'Leary, had them challenging at home and abroad around the time of the Millennium, also featured a fair share of Irish players.
Top Flight
Between the mid-90s and mid-2000s, the likes of Ian Harte, Gary Kelly, Robbie Keane, Stephen McPhail and Alan Maybury all represented the Yorkshire club. Some schoolfriends of mine were Leeds fans as a result of that era.
There have been plenty of Irish players at the club since then too.
And other players have caught the eye. Many moons ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing the great Tony Yeboah with Richard Chambers and Joe Coffey on Team 33. On the side of a road in Ghana, while he was on his car-phone! Similarly, Carlton Palmer also came on the show a couple of years ago. Ian Harte also spoke to Off The Ball when he retired in 2015.
Anyway, if Marcelo Bielsa can keep the momentum going, we could see Leeds back where they feel they belong i.e. in the top division.
But how well do you know the club? Can you name every top scorer per season in their top flight (old First Division or Premier League) campaigns? We'll start from 1964-65 when Giles first reached the top division with Leeds. If it doesn't display properly, click here.
