Peter O'Mahony's relishing Kingsholm vibe

Peter O'Mahony says he's relishing the chance to set foot on the Kingsholm Stadium field on Friday.

Munster will visit Gloucester Rugby's home ground for their next Heineken Champions Cup clash, looking to cement their place at the top of the pool.

It's a stadium that evokes plenty of memories for Munster's captain.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, he said, "Going to Kingsholm, I've been going there since I was small, supporting Munster.

"It's an incredible atmosphere and they've an incredible passion for their team and their support, certainly around Europe, is second to none. It's a great stadium to play in.

"We'll have our own little pocket of supporters there. But it will be a super atmosphere to play in."

O'Mahony also confirmed that he picked up a knock on the hip against Connacht last week in the Pro14. But he added that he is hopeful that he "should be good to go" for the Gloucester game.

Munster head coach Johann van Graan also discussed the upcoming game. The South African identified some of the areas in which he feels Gloucester will pose a threat.

"Their kicking game from 9 and 10 is pretty good and they've got a very good chase," he said.

"Billy Twelvetrees is one player I've enjoyed following my whole life. He's such a hard worker and seems to be the heart and soul of their team.

"He ignites them and even in our win here at Thomond Park, he kept fighting for 80 minutes."
