Martin O'Neill is on thin ice | Keith Andrews

"If we get the manner of performance that we've seen here or against Denmark last November, obviously things need to change, probably on a managerial front," Keith Andrews told OTB AM after Ireland's 4-1 loss to Wales.

He added that he thinks Irish injuries were not an acceptable excuse for the team's poor performance:

"Okay, we know we haven’t ‘X,Y,Z’ available, we know the issues we have had with Harry Arter, with Declan Rice, but what you have got available is a set of players that are willing to run through brick walls.

"If they are organised in a certain way they have proved, certainly the back four and the goalkeeper, look, we can frustrate teams. Going forward I wasn’t expecting too much."

The former-Irish international believe's that Ireland's depleted squad should have still been able to make life difficult for Bale and Co.:

"I personally think that with what we had available, the format, and the shape of the team should have been [what we did for] Denmark away. Grind out some kind of result. Anything we do going forward is going to be a bonus."
