"I got it wrong" - John Meyler on how Cork turned things around against Clare

For the second year in a row, Cork are the kings of Munster hurling.

John Meyler's side narrowly saw off rivals Clare by 2-24 to 3-19 at Semple Stadium.

As Cork's attention now turns to the All Ireland series and making an impact there, manager Meyler joined Joe Molloy on the line and admitted that he got the original set-up wrong before he and his backroom team turned things around with some changes.

"You could've rephrased the question and say 'you got your match-ups wrong with Conlon,'" he joked, before continuing.

"I would say I got it wrong because we ended up putting Colm on Conlon was unmarkable in the first half.

"It was incredible. Anytime the ball went in there, he just got it and turned, over the bar. So we had to do something.

"It was a case of either Cadogan going back there or Colm Spillane. Cadogan was doing a good job on Peter Duggan so it was then simply a case of putting Damien on Podge Collins and putting Colm at full back and that worked for us.

"We're flexible in terms of the players in terms of the players can play in different positions and they have the freedom to do that and the game is so fluid today that maybe a guy might go better in different positions on different days. So, look it just worked yesterday and hopefully we get it right the next day."
