Hunter: Pep's Man City are appreciated, not loved

After Manchester City's Champions League exit #OTBAM discussed Pep Guardiola's time at the club with Graham Hunter:

"There's been an 'art gallery' aesthetic appreciation for City this season, rather than love, rather than affection," he observed.

Hunter added that he is sure that there will be many critics ready to declare that the Catalan has been found out - be he believes that the Catalan will stay at City:

"Is he burned out physically and mentally? I doubt that very much indeed. Is he enjoying the parts of exposure to English football culture that he thought he'd enjoy? My information is yes.

"Are the resources there, does he have a good relationship with the owners? Yes ... I still believe that he thinks that with refinements he can conquer Europe and I think that he'll be determined to stay until it's done."

Barca

Graham also shared his thoughts on the performance of Barcelona who also crashed out of the tournament at the semi-final stage.

"Barcelona got their backsides' handed to them last night - that's what happened," he told Ger. "We've seen it a little bit regularly - if you're a heartfelt Barca fan or if you're a Barca planner or if you're their president or indeed their captain, Andres Iniesta - there's an exact similarity to Turin last year.

"Albeit that was the first leg, the away leg against Juventus when they were beaten 3-0 - it was absolutely a twin, identical to the 4-0 thrashing in Paris. The conclusion to draw is that at this time of year either Barcelona win and go through to win the tournament - one, the treble in 2014/15 or they go out at the quarter-final stage limply."
