Brian O'Driscoll tips Wales vs Ireland to go right to the wire

Brian O'Driscoll believe Wales are slight favourites in the final Six Nations game against Ireland.

Ireland went into 2019 as reigning Grand Slam winners. But this year in Cardiff, it's Wales who are going for that accolade.

The Irish form improved in the last game against France, which sets up a mouth-watering clash.

Brian and ex-Leinster head coach Matt Williams joined us to preview the game.

BOD sees it being incredibly tight at the Principality Stadium.

"I feel as though Wales are favourites," he said.

"So should they just sneak it? Probably. But I think it will go down to the last five minutes.

"I think both teams will score points. Their defence isn't without its frailties but we've also shown we can get a little bit narrow in defence.

"And they've shown they're a team that can really exploit that with the quality of their passing and their speed out wide.

"I'm really intrigued to see the battle of Jonathan Davies and Garry Ringrose. It would have been lovely for the two of them to have gone at it on the Lions tour. But it probably came six months too early for Ringrose. But that should be a really brilliant contest."

Irish change

Matt Williams also joined us and pointed out the signs of Irish change against France. And he believes it's a positive knock-on effect of the "form dip" at the start of the Six Nations.

"On Sunday against France, I saw some really good signs of changes with the Irish game," he said.

"Unless you keep growing and changing, if you get to the World Cup, everyone's going to pick you."

He also spoke about Wales head coach Warren Gatland. Williams feels the New Zealander "doesn't get the credit he deserves in Ireland".

Plus, Brian and Matt also discussed the first match-day meeting between Gatland and Ireland flanker Sean O'Brien since these comments about the last Lions tour.
