Van de Beek starts | Manchester United v RB Leipzig team news

The teams are in for this evening's Champions League Group H encounter between Manchester United and RB Leipzig at Old Trafford.

United boss Ole Solskaer has opted to start both Donny van de Beek and Paul Pogba in midfield while Anthony Martial returns from suspension to start up front against last season's semi-finalists.

Lindelof has got the nod to partner Maguire in the centre of the hosts' defence with Wan-Bissaka and Shaw in the full-back positions and David De Gea keeping goal.

Matic will sit at the base of midfield with Fred, Greenwood partners Martial in attack while Edinson Cavani is among the subs.

Van de Beek was an unused sub against Chelsea in the Premier League and has played less than an hour of league football since his arrival from Ajax.

"When players come into a new league, to a new team, it's always going to be a time that he adapts," Solskjaer said of the Dutch midfielder's game-time.

"When he's played he plays really well. It says a lot about our depth and quality in the squad, that we don't have to use him every single game because we have other players as well.

"Donny is going to play a big, big part this year. At the moment, I realise the topic is Donny van de Beek, it's nice for some players or commentators to have a little go.

"I know you're short for time on TV and have to put your point across quickly, but you have to know you don't have to start the first three games to be a very important member of the squad."

Both sides won their opening games in Group H last week. An 87th-minute Marcus Rashford goal earned United a 2-1 victory away to last season's finalists Paris Saint Germain while Angeliño's double helped Leipzig to a 2-0 home success against İstanbul Başakşehir.
