Tyson Fury claims Wembley is booked for Joshua fight

Tyson Fury claims that Wembley Stadium has already been booked for a potential fight against Anthony Joshua next April.

Fury has not fought in almost 18 months. The 'Gypsy King' defeat Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 to win the  WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring heavyweight titles.

The 28-year-old stepped away from the ring due to mental health issues. On Monday afternoon, he appears at a UK Anti-Doping hearing over a reported positive drugs test for Nandrolone over two years ago. Fury is currently without a UK boxing license.

Speaking to The Telegraph, as he continues his bid to return to full fitness, Fury revealed that Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has his sights set on returning to Wembley next year, after the success of Joshua's fight with Klitschko.

"There isn’t another stadium where it should take place", Fury admitted. "I would fight Joshua in October, but I believe Klitschko will take the rematch. Deep down, I don’t think they want to fight me yet.

"Joshua struggled with Klitschko. And I took Klitschko to school, toyed with him, put my hands behind my back, literally, while he was letting his cannons go, slipping out of the way of them. They are not ready for that."

Despite his lengthy absence from the ring, Fury revealed he is sure the fight against Fury would be an easy encounter.

"I will just give Joshua a boxing lesson, and I believe I would stop him late in the fight, after he’s tired of chasing me round and missing. I’m 28, not 41, like Klitschko. Joshua really is an easy fight for me."

He hopes to return to action in July in London, on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders' World title fight in The Copper Box.
