Tottenham shock City as Arsenal draw a blank | Premier League Round-Up

Steven Bergwijn scored a dream goal on his debut as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester City 2-0 to go fifth in the Premier League.

The Dutchman only joined from PSV Eindhoven during the week, but chested the ball down and cracked a brilliant volley into the net on 63 minutes.

His goal came after City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko was sent off for picking up a second yellow card for impeding Giovani Lo Celso.

Heung Min Son doubled Spurs' advantage and helped secure all three points at the new White Hart Lane with a deflected effort 19 minutes from time.

City dominated the game until the Zinchenko dismissal and were awarded a penalty just before half-time when Serge Aurier was adjudged to have fouled Sergio Aguero after a VAR delay.

Ilkay Gundogan stepped up to take the spot-kick, but his effort was saved by Hugo Lloris, who was then involved in a tangle with Raheem Sterling in the aftermath of the save.

The incident went to VAR again, but another penalty was ruled out.

The win sends Tottenham fifth in the table and four points off Chelsea and the Champions League places.

And Jose Mourinho will have the bragging rights over Pep Guardiola if they share a glass of wine tonight.

The result means Liverpool's unassailable lead at the top of the table is 22 points.

Earlier, Arsenal were held to a scoreless draw by Burnley at Turf Moor. That's probably a harsh way of describing events for the Clarets, who were the better team.

Burnley lie 11th in the table this evening, with the Gunners 10th.
