Former Chelsea teammates Olivier Giroud and Thibaut Courtois have been captured talking about a first-half Timo Werner miss on Tuesday night.
A Champions League first-leg result (1-1) that guarantees some excitement when Real Madrid travel to London next week, Thomas Tuchel will believe that his team could have secured the result in Spain.
Starting superbly in the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium on Tuesday night, Chelsea only managed to grab one goal through Christian Pulisic for all their hard work.
As Real Madrid rallied and grabbed an equaliser thereafter, Chelsea's frustration will have been intensified by a Timo Werner miss that looked easier to score.
Image: RMCSportIndeed, when the Real Madrid 'keeper Thibaut Courtois ran into former Chelsea teammate and substitute on the night Olivier Giroud in the tunnel, it was all anyone could talk about.
"The save on Timo, pfff," the French striker is believed to have said to the Belgian.
Getting his body behind the Werner's shot to keep the ball out, Courtois seemed a little reticent about taking too much credit for the save, however.
"All I did was put my foot like this," he replied before both players resumed focusing on the second-half to come.
Image: RMCSportUnfortunately for the striker signed from RB Leipzig in the summer, Tuesday's was not the first high-profile Timo Werner miss of the season.
After securing a 1-1 draw in Madrid, manager Tuchel did address the glaring opportunity and Werner's form.
"He missed a big one at West Ham and now he's missed a big one here, that does not help," he said. "But it doesn't help crying about it or regretting it all the time.
"Tomorrow he has a free day and the next day he must put his chin up. He's a top guy, a professional guy. He works hard. He's in the positions. He will not stop believing.
"Everyone accepts the situation like it is. With strikers, if you score the next game, nobody speaks."
