"There's only one club I'd go back to!" | Simon Zebo on future

Simon Zebo joined Monday Night Rugby to discuss all things Parisian, his experience missing out in 2018 and his club rugby future.

The Munster man was coy on his future, but keen to impress that he does not see himself playing until the age of 36, as some of his peers have done.

It appears that there is really only one club that he would leave Racing 92 to join.

"It is very exciting at the moment in Racing and I am really happy to be here, but obviously I do miss home and I will never not have a love for Munster," said Zebo.

"They are probably the one club that I would go back to."

As to when is most feasible for the potential switch to happen, there was a shroud of mystery.

"I signed a two-plus-one [deal] so I have the third year as well, potentially, so we will have to see," Zebo said before clarifying that the third year was his decision.

"We'll see. Stop looking at me like that, Joe!"

Zebo was clear that what he wants is a return to Munster, but he is not sure if it is practicable.

"Going back to play in Thomond Park would be special. It would be incredible to go back - I would really love to do it, but sometimes you don't get dealt those cards.

"I genuinely love life in Paris - I could not be happier day-to-day and my family do too. There would be a lot going into that decision.

"The World Cup [in 2023] is there but I would probably be too old so that wouldn't hold much weight!

"It'll be either home or Paris!"

As to his relationship with the current Ireland head coach, Andy Farrell, Zebo confirmed that he has had no contact with Farrell since he took over the job,

"I would imagine, as he is just into the job, he is not going to be making phone calls all over the place!

"But me and Andy have a very good relationship and that will remain the same whether he decides to pick me up to come and play rugby for Ireland or not."
