Cricket has been growing in Ireland in recent years with overall participation figures currently standing at 40,414.
That's up from 25,170 in 2011 which is an increase of over 60 per cent.
With growing participation and Ireland's hopes to become a fully-fledged Test Nation by 2020, allowing the game to thrive is increasingly vital.
Yesterday the 2014 Interprovincial Series was launched and it will be sponsored by Newstalk.
The Inter-Provincial Championship is in second season with the competition played between Leinster Lightning, Northern Knights and North West Warriors.
Off The Ball's Diarmuid Lyng attended the launch and sat down with CEO of Cricket Ireland Warren Deutrom and asked him how important the Newstalk Interprovincial Series is to their plans of becoming a Test country by 2020.
