Leinster Rugby and Connacht Rugby have both been allocated €10million toward their major stadium re-development works in the latest round of the grants from the government's Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund.
Connacht's €30m project at the Sportsground will see the capacity at the Galway venue rise to 12,000 with synthetic grass set to replace the current surface. The western province will also be building a "high performance training centre" at the site.
Leinster are replacing the current Anglesea stand and terrace with a two-tier capacity grandstand at the RDS, with Horse Ireland and the IRFU also backing their application.
Munster Rugby’s Centre of Excellence has also been handed €1.5m while the Munster Centre of Excellence at Glanmire which will receive €3,858,473 for the first phase of the development.
That will help install grass pitches, floodlighting, an artificial pitch with floodlighting and dressing rooms at Cork City FC's training ground, with the facility set to also be used by teams across the region.
Long-awaited redevelopments works at Walsh Park, Newbridge's St Conleth’s Park and Navan's Pairc Tailteann have also been handed funding boosts.
Meath GAA say they're looking forward to further discussions with the GAA about their works in Navan after being allocated €6.2m, they're planning to add a 4000-seater stand as part of the works.
Waterford's Walsh Park, which was unable to host Championship games in the summer of 2018, is in line to receive €3,753,750 toward their new stand and dressing rooms.
Kildare GAA have been awarded almost €5m toward their new stand and floodlights at St Conleth's Park.
Athletics Ireland's €22.9million construction of a high performance athletics indoor training facility on the Cork IT campus has been given €9.22m, with that joint project with Cork City Council also set to resurface the existing outdoor track at the site.
In all, 25 different projects are in line to share a pot of €77.4m, though each grant is still subject to assessments and due diligence before the funds are processed.
