On Monday's OTB AM we rated the good, the bad and the indifferent from the weekend's sporting action in our Gillette Performance Rankings.
Good
Brian Fenton and Gearoid Hegarty
The pair were named Footballer and Hurler of the Year respectively for the 2020 season at the PwC All-Star awards over the weekend.
Remarkably, Fenton is still unbeaten in championship football and many believe he belongs in the Greatest of All Time discussion.
While Hegarty's victory can be seen as yet more evidence of Limerick's growing dominance. Hegarty is a very different hurler to Cian Lynch who’s been hurler of the year in the past and this is indicative of how Limerick can win in a multitude of different ways.
Irish Athletics
Records tumbled at the Athletics Ireland Elite Micro Meet at Abbotstown over the weekend.
The pick of the races was probably the men's 800 metres in which Mark English and 18-year-old Cian McPhillips battled it out. English prevailed on the line by just three hundredths of a second, smashing the Irish indoor record in the process.
Phil Healy, Georgie Hartigan, Nadia Power and several others also caught the eye in a high quality weekend of athletics ahead of next month’s European Indoor Championships in Poland.
Grand
Harry Byrne
All eyes were on Leinster's game with Dragons on Friday night to see the performance of Harry Byrne. The general consensus was that the young fly-half showed promise but it was difficult to garner a lot of information from a fairly miserable, mucky night in the Pro 14.
Bad
Tottenham Hotspur
Jose Mourinho's side's decline has been somewhat overshadowed by Liverpool’s calamitous collapse but it’s been no less damaging. Spurs slumped to another defeat against West Ham on Sunday and now sit in ninth place in the Premier League Table.
Tony Finau
The 31-year-old American golfer lost out in a playoff to Max Homa on Sunday night. This is just the latest example of Finau failing to get over the line when in contention, a trait that has seen him nicknamed the "Mayo of golf".
