A task-force meeting which explored possible dates for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has concluded with the recommendation that the tournament should take place in November and December.
The delegates involved in the Doha summit this morning favoured holding the event in the autumn/winter months, rather than in the unfeasibly hot summer time.
Such a recommendation is sure to cause consternation among the powerful European leagues and clubs, who would favour the event was held in its traditional June/July place so as not to interfere with their calendar.
Hearing suggestions - not confirmed - Qatar 2022 task force will recommend World Cup starts Nov 26th. World Cup final to be played Dec 23.
