The Women's National Football team (WNT) have decided not to attend today's training camp as they prepare to meet a mediator later this evening, with their PFAI representatives.
The players made the decision at a team meeting today ahead of a training session that was scheduled to take place at 1pm.
They are now looking towards a 'meeting with a mediator' at 6pm this evening, according to a statement released by SPITU.
Members of the team, along with representatives from the PFAI and SIPTU 'will attend' the meeting, while representatives of the FAI are understood to also be attending.
SIPTU Services Division Organiser, Ethel Buckley, said:
"It is our understanding that representatives of the FAI will also be meeting with the mediator."
In relation to the team's decision to not attend training today, PFA Ireland Player Executive, Ollie Cahill explained:
"The players have not taken this decision lightly. The players wish to make clear that they simply want the FAI to respect their right to choose their own representatives and have all the outstanding issues which are affecting their ability to achieve their maximum potential for their country resolved in a swift, amicable and professional manner."
This development comes on the back of yesterday's press conference, where members of the team raised a number of concerns about the apparent conditions they are playing under.
A €300 match fee, and gym membership for the squad, are among the issues that the players want the FAI to address.
