On Thursday night Manchester United will look to use the platform of last week's first leg win against Celta Vigo in the home leg of their UEFA Europa League semi final.
At the same time in central France, four time European Cup/Champions League winners Ajax take on Lyon in their own semi final second leg.
Holding a 4-1 lead from the first leg, Ajax are strong favourites to make it into their first European final since 1996, the year they almost defended the competition only to lose to Juventus in the final.
That young side which had triumphed under Louis van Gaal in 1995 thanks to Patrick Kluivert's winner was quickly broken up with most of the players successfully continuing their careers elsewhere.
But what are the starting lineup from the 1995 Champions League final win over AC Milan up to now?
Edwin van der Sar
The goalkeeper and former Netherlands legend would later win the Champions League again with Manchester United. These days he is back at Ajax, serving as marketing director and then CEO.
Michael Reiziger
The right back would move on to Milan and then Barcelona eventually, before retiring at PSV in 2007. For a time, he did some coaching at Sparta Rotterdam.
Danny Blind
Father of Manchester United's Daley Blind, he was sacked as Netherlands manager in March after a string of disappointing results.
Frank Rijkaard
An experienced veteran in 1995, the ex-Netherlands defender would go on to win the Champions League again with Barcelona in 2006 as manager, also helping to introduce Lionel Messi to the world during his tenure which also included two La Liga titles and the peak years of Ronaldinho.
He hasn't been on the coaching ladder since 2013 when he left the Saudi Arabia national team job and had stated that he had little interest in doing so, although he was linked with the Thailand job.
Frank de Boer
The former Netherlands defender would later manage Ajax to four league titles in a row between 2010-11 and 2013-14 before departing for Inter Milan in a spell that did not go well.
He was sacked last November after less than 90 days in charge at San Siro and has yet to take on a new job.
Clarence Seedorf
The midfielder would go on to win more Champions League titles with Real Madrid and AC Milan and also went on to manage the latter club briefly.
His former Inter Milan room-mate Robbie Keane was speaking highly of him to Newstalk recently.
And before Dick Advocaat was confirmed as Netherlands' new boss, Seedorf was briefly linked with the role.

Finidi George
Residing in Spain after retiring, the former Nigeria winger was Real Betis' director of international football for a time at his former club, before doing some coaching at RCD Mallorca.
Edgar Davids
The "Pitbull" featured last week when we looked at the Tottenham team that lost on the final matchday in 2006 AKA Lasagne-gate.
Ronald de Boer
Frank's twin brother, the former Rangers and Netherlands midfielder did some coaching with the Ajax youth teams until 2014.
Jari Litmanen
Finland's greatest footballer would also spend time at Liverpool between 2001 and 2002 before returning to Ajax. He is now involved in punditry in his homeland.
Marc Overmars
The winger would go on to enjoy success at Arsenal but is another back at the club, working as the director of football since the summer of 2012.
