Wexford Youths WFC have been boosted by the news that the FAI's bid to host the UEFA Women’s Champions League Qualifying Group in August as been successful.
The Continental Tyres Women's National League will host their European fixtures at Ferrycarrig Park while the RSC, Waterford, will also be used for the four-team group, which takes place from August 22-29th.
UEFA will make the draw for the group stages in Nyon on Friday, June 24.
Wexford Youths won two out of their three games at the same stage last year but were knocked out by host club, Polish champions KKPK Medyk Konin, who topped the group with nine points.
"I see this as great news for Wexford Youths WFC and for the Continental Tyres Women's National League as a whole. I wouldn't want to put any pressure on them but they showed last year that they can compete at this level and with last year's experience behind them hopefully they can build on it and progress this time around," said FAI Continental Tyres Women's National League chairman Eamon Naughton.
