West Ham's Declan Rice earns call-up to Ireland training squad

Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane have included three uncapped players in the Republic of Ireland's upcoming three-day training camp ahead of friendlies with Mexico and Uruguay next month.

West Ham youngster Declan Rice has been included in the 19-man panel named today, with more senior players expected to join up with the squad in the coming week.

Burnley and former Cork City defender Kevin Long also makes the cut, as does Preston North End midfielder Alan Browne. Both have been drafted into O'Neill's squad for the first time.

Browne's Preston teammate Daryl Horgan makes the squad once again, as does fellow former Dundalk defender Andy Boyle.

Cork City goalkeepers Mark McNulty and Alan Smith will also be included in the panel.

The Republic of Ireland will face Mexico in New Jersey at the start of June, before returning to face Uruguay at the Aviva Stadium.

The two will act as warm-up games for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Austria in Dublin.

Ireland are second in Group D, level on 11 points with Serbia. O'Neill's men trail only on goal difference and have not yet been beaten.

A win against Austria could see them return to the top of the group before a trip to Georgia in September.
