In the aftermath of his appearance alongside Gary Neville at an Off the Ball roadshow, a selection of Roy Keane's comments made their way back into the Whatsapp group of Manchester United's former players.
An evening's entertainment notable for Keane's comments on everything from his international involvement with Ireland to Manchester United memories, it was the latter that grabbed the attention of Keane's former clubmates.
"We're all still in a Whatsapp group," explained Wes Brown of how he and his former teammates keep in touch, "so we all had a good laugh at it."
A five-time Premier League winner with Manchester United, Brown's stint with the club came during an era when Roy Keane was at his most devastating as a player.
"Keano was my captain for many years," he stated on Thursday's OTB AM, "and he's that sort of character so you know you're always going to get something special.
"The thing is though that people only dig out certain bits but when you watch the whole thing, he talks a lot of sense."
Recalling his wildly successful spell at the club, Brown's memories of Keane tend to focus on the positive aspects of his leadership.
"He was brilliant for me," confirmed Brown, "and when I was coming up you could always go to him and ask him stuff.
"In training, he was tough as nails and it didn't matter if you were 16 or 36, he'd be the same with everyone.
"I think that's why I respected him so much.
"On the pitch, he would do the same thing. Forget about the talking, on the pitch you knew he had your back, and hopefully, I could have his back as well.
"That's what being a team is all about."
