The remaining semi-final spots in the Legue Cup were decided tonight when Manchester United and Southampton joined Liverpool and Hull in the last four.
Southampton travelled to the Emirates and took the game to Arsenal from the outset. Goals from Jordy Clasie and Ryan Betrand in the first half were enough to see the visitors through.
Arsenal pressed to get back in the game after the break but the Saint's defence held firm to secure a big win for the south-coast club.

Man Utd booked there place in the semi-final with a 4-1 win over West Ham at Old Trafford. The home side took the lead through Zlatan Ibrahimovic before Fletcher brought the scores level after a blunder by de Gea.

Man Utd took control of the game in the second half with goals from Martial (x2) and Ibrahimovic sealing a comfortable win in the end.

In Scotland, Hearts entertained Rangers. The home side took all three points and leapfrogged the Glasgow outfit into second place in the table, 8 points behind Celtic. Robbie Muirhead scored both goals in a 2-0 win.
