It has been announced that this year's Web Summit event in Lisbon will feature the legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldo as one of its many iconic sporting guests.
Alongside the likes of Eric Cantona, Ronaldinho, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Baron Davis and heavyweight champion boxer Wladimir Klitschko, the event is set to take place in the Portuguese capital from the 4th of November to the 7th.
Ronaldo, a two-time Ballon d'Or winner who memorably lead his country's charge to World Cup success in 2002, will be presented with the Web Summit Innovation in Sport Award at this year's event.
International recognition of his excellence in the sports business community, he will join the likes of Jorge Mendes, the agent of Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo, as a recipient of the award.
Through a glittering career that saw him represent the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan and their city rivals AC, Speaker Director and Producer of Sports Trade at Web Summit Darren Cleary shared his thoughts on the presence of the Brazilian and his fellow sporting guests.
"We've never seen such an impressive line up of athletes, club owners, business experts, and brands at Web Summit," he outlined.
"Technology is changing the way sport is played, distributed and watched. Sports Trade dives into the industry's next play."
The largest technology conference in the world, Forbes, Financial Times and Bloomberg have credited Web Summit with creating a gathering of technology experts unmatched the world over.
