Cody Garbandt overpowered Dominic Cruz in the co-main event of UFC 207 to become the bantamweight champion. But it was what he did afterwards that stunned the crowd.
Just moments after receiving the belt, Garbrandt called out to 10-year-old Maddux Maple who was diagnosed with Leukemia just a few years ago.
Garbrandt then wrapped his new belt around Maple, who he knew before he was even on the UFC roster.
Speaking after his win, Garbrandt paid tribute to Maple and his family.

"It’s been a great journey. I want to thank everyone that has been apart of it. I wouldn’t be here without their support, especially this man right here.
"He brought redirection to my life. I’m finally able to do this for him."
Commenting on the fight, Garbrandt said:
"I thrive in that environment, that’s what I grew up in, fighting. That’s all I know, hats off to Dominick for making me a better person and a better fighter. He’s a champion for a reason, he’s one of the best."
Garbrandt's victory was an unexpected result and the fixture was regarded as one of the most sensational championship performances in recent years.
