Former England manager Steve McClaren was covering the game for Sky Sports News on Monday night, and was clearly not expecting to be reporting on an England defeat.
As Sky didn't have the rights to show the game, they were following the format of Soccer Saturday, as they cut to McClaren for updates on the match.
The erstwhile Newcastle manager stated that England were playing well despite conceding an equaliser, and were well on top, so they just needed to keep it going. Until...
Iceland's second goal, scored by Sigthorsson, ran contrary to what McClaren was saying on air, and his deflated reaction pretty much sums up what it was like to be a fan of the Three Lions on Monday night.
