Shamrock Rovers notched their first win of the new Premier Division season with a 2-1 victory over Dundalk at Tallaght stadium.
Former Bohs playmaker Danny Mandroiu opened the scoring for Rovers in the 35th minute after some quick thinking at a free-kick.

Dundalk pressed for an equaliser in the second-half as they tried to avoid another defeat after last week's shock loss to Finn Harps.
However, the Lilywhites were again undone by a long-range strike from another former Bohs playmaker, this time it was Dylan Watts.

A late Patrick Hoban goal proved only to be a consolation for Dundalk. Shane Keegan will also be concerned as Brian Gartland was forced off early in the game with what looked like a serious injury.
Even so early in the season, this could be a significant victory for Shamrock Rovers as they look to retain the title.
