WATCH: Ivory Coast goalkeeper suffers howler of all howlers at the worst time possible

The African Cup of Nations is proceeding through the group stages without much to note. So far, the biggest stories have been controversies rather than performances on the field or exciting games. A horror moment for Ivory Coast goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare is only adding to the frustration for those tuning in.

Badra Ali Sangare wishes you didn't know his name.

The Ivory Coast goalkeeper produced a howler that has to be seen to be believed today. His side were 2-1 up against Sierra Leone in the fianl minutes. Sebastien Haller, of Ajax fame, opened the scoring for Ivory Coast on 25 minutes. Arsenal's Nicholas Pepe added a second in the 65th minute after Mohamed Kamara had levelled the game at 1-1.

Alhaji Kamara came off the bench in the 75th minute to score the equalizer. He initially fell in the six-yard box before regathering his feet to clip the ball into an empty net.

Sangare could only watch from the ground by the edge of the box.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper has made just 15 appearances for his country since 2009. He plays his club football for JDR Stars in South Africa. This will undoubtedly be a lowlight for his career as he somehow managed to dive onto the ball and spill it going to ground. There was no danger until Sangare tried to prevent the corner.

With 30 seconds left and his side winning, there isn't a worse moment for it to happen either.

Ivory Coast remain top of their group with four points. Sierra Leone move up to two points, but Algeria and Equatorial Guinea play each other next. If either side wins that game they will move ahead of Sierra Leone.

Each team has one game remaining in the group stages, so Sangare has a chance to redeem himself.
