In recent years, Manchester United attacking midfielder Juan Mata has forged a reputation as one of the more thoughtful characters in football.
The Spain international has maintained a blog in which he shares his personal thoughts and experiences.
On his way to the team bus, that thoughtfulness and class was on full display as the player took time to approach and interact with young fan Alex Nield outside Old Trafford on Saturday evening, ahead of Sunday's 1-1 draw against Stoke City.
The 28-year-old posed for photographs with the young fan, while also greeting his father warmly, having previously met them in May when Man United played Norwich.
And he also organised tickets for them for the Stoke match.
