'I wanted to kill him': Claudio Ranieri says Aboubakar Kamara 'disrespected' Fulham after penalty drama

Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri said he 'wanted to kill' forward Aboubakar Kamara after his side's penalty drama at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

The London club ran out 1-0 winners over Huddersfield thanks to a last minute Aleksandar Mitrovic goal, but missed a golden chance to put the game out of reach when they won a penalty eight minutes from time.

Kamara refused to hand over duties to Mitrovic to take the spot-kick and ultimately went on to miss the penalty.

It is unbelievable what he did, he did not respect me, the club, his team-mates and crowd

Aboubakar Kamara, Claudio Ranieri Fulham's Aboubakar Kamara (centre) and Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic (left) disagree over who will take the penalty.

"I said to [Kamara] to leave the ball to Mitrovic, he is the man who shoots the penalties," Ranieri told BBC Sport after the game. "

"It is unbelievable what he did, he did not respect me, the club, his team-mates and crowd. I spoke with him, it is not right.

“I wanted to kill him, that is normal when one man takes a ball, only because he scored the last penalty [against Manchester United]. It should be Mitrovic, that is it."

The win leaves Fulham just a single point from safety and extends their unbeaten run to three games, picking up five points over the festive period.
