Transfer Talk: Roberto Martinez in line to replace Steve Bruce at Hull City

Former Everton manager Roberto Martinez is at the top of Hull City's list to replace Steve Bruce as manager of the newly-promoted side.

Martinez has been out of a job, since being sacked by Everton at the end of last season. The Daily Express state that the Spaniard is on the shortlist to replace Bruce, after the former Sunderland manager stepped down last week.

Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic was one of the linchpins which Jose Mourinho built his Chelsea team around.

Matic's time at the club though looks to be coming to a close, as former Leicester midfielder N'Golo Kante was one of Antonio Conte's signings as manager. The Daily Mail claim that Matic is being lined up by Serie A champions Juventus as the first-choice replacement for Paul Pogba.

The French international is expected to move to Manchester United in the coming weeks. His transfer is expected to easily exceed €100million.

Manchester United's hopes of buying Raphael Varane from Real Madrid seem to have been ended by the player himself. The French international, who missed Euro 2016 due to injury worked with Jose Mourinho at the Spanish side.

According to Marca, Varane wants to stay at the Bernabeu. "I want to stay here this year, I feel loved by the fans who want the best for me, and the best is yet to come," the defender revealed.

Saido Berahino looks set to be part of a tug-of-war between Stoke City and Crystal Palace until the end of the transfer window. The West Brom star has one-year left on his contract at The Hawthorns and Tony Pulis' side are not hopeful on holding on to the former England Under-21 international.

Crystal Palace have offered £20million for the player according to the Daily Mirror, but Stoke remain interested in the 22-year-old.
