Transfer Talk: Liverpool prepared to let Mamadou Sakho leave on loan after drugs ban

This day next week, the Transfer Window will close until January, meaning the final race is one for Premier League teams to try an improve their squads for the first half of the season.

The next eight days, could be the most crucial of the season for teams at both ends of the Premier League as teams look to make those key final signings.

Liverpool are prepared to let defender Mamadou Sakho leave Anfield on loan. The French defender was an integral part of Klopp's side last season before he was banned by UEFA for failing a drugs test, due to the ingestion of slimming pills.

Sakho's ban was lifted during the summer, but he has yet to play for Liverpool this season, due to a heel injury. The willingness to let the 26-year-old leave does not mean the club see no future for Sakho. The Daily Telegraph claim that a loan move, will help the defender return to full fitness quicker.

Lamine Kone looks like he is to stay at Sunderland, despite the interests of Everton. New manager David Moyes has told the 27-year-old that Sunderland's inability to buy new defenders means Kone will be staying in the north-east of England.

The Ivory Coast international only joined Sunderland in January from Ligue 1 side Lorient. The Daily Mail have reported that the former France underage international was prepared to move to Everton, after the club made a bid earlier this month.

Hull City's start to the Premier League season has surprised many. An opening-day win over champions Leicester City was followed by another win, away to Swansea City as the relegation favourites are one of only four teams with 100% records.

Caretaker manager Mike Phelan has not made any signings since replacing Steve Bruce, but it looks like that may be about to chance. The Daily Mirror have revealed that Aston Villa's Micah Richards is a target for Phelan, as the club hope to bolster their small squad.
