Transfer Talk: Everton set to cash in with massive deals for Lukaku and Stones

Everton are set to make as much as £125 million as they cash in on John Stones and Romelu Lukaku.

The pair have been on the radar for both Manchester City and Chelsea, and with the price tag set to rise even further, Everton could be left with quite a cash reserve to bolster their squad in a number of areas.

Conte is apparently happy to push to £60 million for Lukaku, who has told friends that he wants to return to Stamford Bridge, according to the Sunday Express. Manchester City are willing to go as high as £65 million for Stones, who would suit Guardiola's style of playing the ball at the back.

City are also believed to be close to signing the paperwork on their long-running pursuit of Leroy Sane from Schalke for a fee that has been rumoured to be somewhere between £30-45 million.

The Sunday Times state that although Manchester United have already splashed the cash this summer, and are desperate to seal a world-record deal for Paul Pogba (who they will make the face of the club), they won't stop their recruitment drive there as they continue to make improvements to the squad for Jose Mourinho.

One of the names on the list could be Dimitri Payet, who has been linked with the club, but Hammers legend Tony Cottee told The Sunday Mirror that they don't need to sell him, given their financial situation looks set to improve after their move to the Olympic Stadium.

London neighbours Arsenal are set to have a busy few weeks before the end of the transfer window if the papers are to be believed as they look to make deals all over the park. With Per Mertesacker injured, a deal for Ashley Williams is on the cards according to The Sunday Express, while they may stump up £15 million for Jonny Evans to plug the gap.

Up front, they're still looking at trying to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan, but the deal will cost them north of £50 million, while Alexandre Lacazette is also on their radar. Furthermore, Wenger was seen keeping en eye on Riyad Mahrez during their pre-season tour this week, fueling speculation that they will make a move for him in the coming days.

After a turbulent time over the last few weeks and months, which has culminated in being sent home from the pre-season tour, Mamadou Sakho looks like he might be headed to Roma on loan, according to the Liverpool Echo. They note that with the Italian club short of talent at the back, after new signing Mario Rui suffered a cruciate ligament injury earlier this week, they would look to the Frenchman to solve the problem.

For their part, Liverpool could revive their interest in signing Jonas Hector, given they have (*performs count on fingers*) three packets of crisps and a shovel to try and make a defence out of. They are also looking to get rid of Mario Balotelli, with Ajax reported to be the latest club willing to take a chance on him.

David Moyes is looking to get the band back together at the Stadium of Light as he is reportedly keen on getting deals done to bring Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj to Sunderland. Januzaj has apparently told Mourinho that he is interested in a move away from Old Trafford, but would like to make it permanent this time instead of opting for another loan deal, and is apparently a target for AC Milan also according to The Daily Star.

In the best of the rest: Jon Flanagan has agreed to join Burnley on loan; Samir Nasri is fighting for his future at Manchester City under new manager Pep Guardiola, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move to The Etihad; Gylfi Sigurdsson will turn down the chance to join Everton in favour of staying at Swansea; Erik Lamela wants to stay at Tottenham; Aitor Karanka is interested in taking Zinedine Zidane's son Enzo on loan at Middlesborough; and West Ham are set to sign Swede Ludwig Augustinsson.
