Lyon have told Arsenal that French striker Alexandre Lacazette will not leave the club for less then £40m.
The Daily Mirror this morning report that despite claims by the club that the 25-year-old is "irreplaceable", Lacazette will be allowed to leave the club if the improved price is met. Arsene Wenger had moved with a bid of £29.3m, but this was rejected.
While West Ham had also a bid put in for the Frenchman, it appears that Arsenal will be their first choice not least because they will be playing in the Champions League next season.
Manchester City look as though they will complete a trio of high profile signings in the next week. The Guardian say that Pep Guardiola is looking to add Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Marlos Moreno to his squad before the start of the season.
This would add to three purchases already made, lkay Gündogan, Nolito and Oleksandr Zinchenko, as he prepares to build his squad for the coming season.
However, to take the trio to City from their respective clubs would cost north of £75m and push the former Barcelona coach's spending past the £100m mark.
Ronald Koeman is continuing to build a new-look Everton side during pre-season and will look to bring Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye into his squad.
Sky Sports report that the Toffees have triggered a £7.1m release clause and he looks erady to leave the Championship side in pursuit of Premier League football once again. Everton look to strengthen their options in the middle of the pitch and it appears the Senegal midfielder can do just that.
Finally, Hull are reported to be in the hunt for a new manager to replace Steve Bruce as they return to the Premier League next month.
The Daily Telegraph say that former Everton boss, Roberto Martinez and former Newcastle and England manager, Steve McLaren are now both in the running.
Martinez is said to be preferred to McLaren but no moves have been made as of yet.
