Transfer Rumour RealityCheck: Is Robbie Brady headed back to the Premier League?

It's a lean day at the gossip factory, as the pickings are slim from today's rumour mill. Here's a look at the stories making waves (or at least little ripples) on the sports pages today.

Likely

Bojan to Middlesbrough

It hasn't quite become a "saga" yet, but the persistent rumours linking Bojan with a move away from Stoke have appeared almost every day over the last few weeks. It's clear the former Spain international wants to get away from the club, and Middlesbrough might be an option for him.

Karanka could get the best out of him, and linking up with Negredo, as well as fellow La Masia graduate Adama Traore could mean more goals for Boro. The latest bid, rumoured to be around £8 million, might be a sticking point however, as Stoke may want more for their talented playmaker.

The Brady Bunch

A number of clubs are rumoured to be interested in signing the man who provided the most joyous moment for Ireland fans at Euro 2016, in particular Burnley and Leicester.

The league champions have been having a bad time of it, and Brady's energy and dead ball ability would be a welcome addition for Ranieri. A move to Burnley would see him link up with Jeff Hendrick again, while Newcastle, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are all believed to have registered their interest too.

The stumbling block seems to be the asking price, as Norwich are holding out for £12 million; most suitors on the other hand, value him at something closer to £10 million. The deal would be beneficial for both parties at the moment, given fans seem to have grown frustrated with the Ireland international's performances in a green and yellow shirt.

Makes sense but won't happen

Tiger refuses to wear different stripes

Robert Snodgrass wants out of Hull, and has been the subject of bids from West Ham and, according to The Daily Mirror, West Brom.

The latter seems a bit more of a leap, even though they're having a decent season. At 29, this is likely to be the last big move that Snodgrass makes, and swapping Hull (city of culture and all that it is) for London to join Slaven Bilic's side, even if they are struggling to find form this season, might be a bit more tempting than joining Tony Pulis at West Brom, despite their position in the table at the moment.

Absolute nonsense

Putting Payet to the rumours

The club say he's not for sale, the player himself is rumoured to want to return to France, so that means Chelsea must be the ones in for him, at least according to The Sun. West Ham would be thrilled to sell him to Chelsea too, given they're London neighbours...

Here's one we just made up

According to The Daily Mirror, Jack Wilshere's future at Arsenal is "in doubt," as contract talks have yet to take place on a new deal. The player has looked like a changed man since joining Bournemouth, and will want to strike while the iron is hot, his stock his high and the going is good.

Mixed metaphors aside, we're dragging back up the Italian rumours and linking Jack with a move to Roma again, after the last deal was "scuppered" by the money Eddie Howe's side could put on the table.
