Timo Werner has admitted he is "very proud" to be linked with Premier League leaders Liverpool.
The Germany international scored the only goal of the game as RB Leipzig beat Tottenham 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Werner's penalty against Tottenham was his 26th goal of the season and after the game he was asked about a possible move to Anfield in the summer.
The 23-year-old has plenty of admirers throughout Europe and it would be no surprise to see him playing in the Premier League next season.
Werner told ViasportFotball: “Liverpool are the best team in the world at the moment, and when you're linked with them, it makes me very proud.
"It's a pleasure, but I know Liverpool have a lot of good players. I have to improve myself and to learn much more things to get on this level and to play there."
Liverpool did not do much business last summer but Jurgen Klopp is expected to add to his squad during the next transfer window.
The Premier League leaders have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
