Michael O'Connor has returned to Linfield from Waterford FC following the end of his loan spell with the League of Ireland side.
The striker had been named the Blues' captain this year and played four games before the SSE Airtricity League season was halted by the pandemic.
O'Connor says he had a "brilliant" time at the RSC and has wished the club well in the future while Waterford have thanked the 21-year-old for his "service and commitment".
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone connected to Waterford FC, unfortunately, my time at the club has come to an end, the 21-year-old said on twitter.
"The fans and the people of Waterford have been brilliant to me during my time there. I’d like to thank all the staff/coaches Franny/Alan Reynolds especially for helping me improve as a player/professional.
"Finally, to the fans, thanks for all your support and I wish you and Waterford all the best for the future.”
