"They play for the club no matter what" | Solskjaer praises United players

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that his players are always fully committed when playing for the Red Devils.

Solskjaer's side bounced back from a 5-0 humiliation at home to Liverpool with a 3-0 win at Spurs on Saturday, which saw them jump to fifth in the Premier League table.

The Norwegian spoke on Friday about the need for togetherness and self-belief among his players.

Following the victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Solskjaer reiterated the commitment of his charges to the Manchester United cause.

"They play for the club no matter what," Solskjaer said. "As I said before the game, this is not about me - it's about us improving as a group together."

"If one of them don't do it for the group, they don't play - simple as that"

Solskjaer added that the increased scrutiny following last weekend's drubbing is simply part of the job.

"You're under pressure from day one when you walk in here, and it's been a difficult week for the players, and the fans have not been happy."

"As I said out there, this is one game, it's the next one now [against] Atalanta."

"For me, there are so many other things out there that are horrible, that you have to look at yourself and be happy that you are where you are and you have the responsibility that you have."

"You have to enjoy it because when I don't, you have to knock on and say 'that's not for me.'

Solskjaer: "The experience came through for us"

Solskjaer also praised goalscorers Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming their years of experience got the team over the line.

"I've been here three years as a manager", Solskjaer said. "Tuesday's training performance by Cavani is probably the best performance anyone has put in to a training session here. The old men lead from the front."

"I mean the first six or seven minutes, we probably gave them too much of the ball, but the experience came through. I was told that's the oldest team I have picked for Manchester United, and it was time for it."
