David Moyes should have been given more time at Manchester United according to Pat Nevin.
The former Chelsea and Everton legend joined us on the show tonight and although the decision to dispense with Moyes did not come as a surprise to him, Pat thinks money spoke volumes.
"They're obviously worried about not getting into the Champions League for more than one season and they are obviously concerned about giving somebody £150 million and they're not sure that he's going to use it right. But who do you know is going to use that money absolutely right," said Pat who recently told us that Moyes was "sold a pup."
"I feel quite sorry for David Moyes. That wasn't his team running out on the pitch at Old Trafford every week. Maybe next year you would have seen his team. You're never going to see David Moyes' team built in his image and that's a shame because he'll always be seen as a failure at Man United."
Pat added that Moyes was firefighting from the start and believes the bigger picture should be looked at when assessing the former Everton manager.
He also feels players let Moyes down and added that Wayne Rooney has not hit the heights he should have done and also gave us an insight into Moyes' frame of mind as he plots a post-United future.
The former Blues midfielder also gave his take on Chelsea's recent form.
