Stillian Petrov returns to Aston Villa this summer, three years after the 36-year-old underwent treatment for leukemia.
The club confirmed today that the Bulgarian will train with the team on a non-contract basis during their pre-season camp in Austria.
Petrov, who has won 105 caps for his country, has not played top flight football in four years.

He was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia in 2012 and announced his retirement from football in 2013 after undergoing treatment for the disease.
The club announced that just four months after the treatment that the former club captain had gone into remission.
Aston Villa begin life in the Championship away to Sheffield Wednesday on 7 August before their first home game of the season against Rotherham six days later.
