Matt Doherty's about to join the lineage of Republic of Ireland international right-backs at Tottenham.
Spurs have agreed a £15million (€16.75m) fee with his current club Wolves for the 28-year old's services.
Doherty will follow the likes of Chris Hughton and Stephen Carr who served the right-hand side of Tottenham's defence with distinction.
The former Bohemians player is due to undergo a medical at the weekend, after cutting short a holiday in Sardinia.
He'll become Jose Mourinho's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart.
Doherty still has three years left on his contract at Molineux, where he's become an integral part of Nuno Espirito Santo's side.
The 28-year old was signed by Mick McCarthy in 2010, after impressing while playing for Bohemians in a trial game against Wolves at Dalymount Park.
Despite never playing a senior game for Bohs, Wolves paid a reported £75,000 for his services.
The Dublin club will collect 10 per cent of any fee generated by a Doherty transfer.
Bohs manager Keith Long told OTB Sports on Thursday that the money received from any Doherty transfer will be used wisely.
"There's no doubt we could put that to good use, that type of windfall," Long told Stephen Doyle ahead of Bohs' Europa League qualifier away to Fehervar.
"Any club would be over the moon with that type of investment, or in this case it's a 'sell-on'.
"It's a return on Matt Doherty. Matt's been away in the UK, he's been performing at a very very high level for Wolves and it's a big move for him.
"The club will be rewarded, if that was to transpire.
"And obviously then we have to be very very prudent in what we do with that money to ensure that the projects we want to work on, and the areas that we need to improve upon at the club, that that money - if it happens - is invested in those areas."
Doherty's arrival at Tottenham should pave the way for Serge Aurier to leave, with AC Milan reportedly interested in the Ivorian.
