Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has attempted to pacify Roma supporters and players ahead of Thursday's UEFA Europa League clash between the clubs.
Supporters of the Giallorossi were angered by comments made by the Manchester United manager in the wake of his team's quarter-final win against Granada when he said: "I don’t know Roma well and I haven’t seen them play, I know they played two good games against Ajax."
The remarks led to supporters of the Serie A club plastering posters around the ancient city in a bid to motivate the players.
The posters included the quotes from Solskjaer, with the added caption: "Fate in modo che si ricordi di noi!" ("Make sure they remember us!").

United entertain the Romans for the first leg of their semi-final on Thursday night.
Solskjaer was speaking at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday and insisted that he has a lot of respect for the Italian club.
"That was straight after the game, with all the games we've had, I was just relieved we'd come through [against Granada]," said Solskjaer.
"And, of course, I've watched them but I haven't analysed and haven't seen them in-depth to give them enough respect probably with analysis, which I could have said, which I truly mean.
"It's a fantastic club with a great history, I've actually got two prized possessions back home - a (Francesco) Totti shirt and a (Daniele) de Rossi shirt - I swapped shirts with them, actually signed.
"So I know about the history, I know about the quality, with Chris (Smalling) being there last season, we followed them. Then they signed Chris and we've not watched them as much but we've analysed them down to the ground since we drew them and we are ready for them.
"It was not meant as any disrespect and I think everyone knows that, and I've got loads of respect for them."
