Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says his side is ready, both mentally and physically, to take on Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League semi-final on Sunday night.
His side has had six days to prepare for the clash in Cologne against the Spaniards who are the masters of the competition - having won it on five occasions.
United needed a Bruno Fernandes penalty in extra-time to beat Copenhagen in the quarter-finals earlier this week.
This will be their 14th game since the resumption of football in mid-June after the coronavirus pandemic shut the sport down back in March.
Solskjaer is confident of where his side are in terms of preparations and speaking ahead of the game he said,
"We’ve had a few good days preparing, recovering and training.
"It's not very often that we have six days between games.
"We’re ready; we’re physically ready.
"Mentally, the boys will be ready because it’s a semi-final and everyone will want to take part and I just want them to enjoy it.
"For me as well, I’m looking forward to it.
"We’ve already been to a semi twice this season [in the Carabao and FA Cups] and we’re happy going as far as we have, but we’re not satisfied.
"We want to go one step further."
Solskjaer has also called on his senior players to lead by example as he aims to win his first piece of silverware with the club,
"It's time to step up for big players.
"In big-game moments you have to have 100% focus because any little moment can change a game, can win you the game, and can win you the game."
