Roberto Firmino has given Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp a massive boost ahead of the Champions League final which takes place in Madrid on Saturday, June 1.
The long-term absentee looks on-course to overcome the muscle injury that has kept him sidelined him, for the most part, since the end of April.
A statement released on the official club website on Tuesday revealed the news that the Brazilian striker is back in action with his team-mates:
"Roberto Firmino today trained alongside his teammates following a muscle strain that ruled him out of Liverpool’s last three matches.
"The Brazilian took part in the Reds' first session of their Marbella training camp on Tuesday morning as he works his way back to full fitness.
"Firmino has been working with the club’s medical staff on his rehabilitation from the issue and his reintroduction into full team training will be carefully managed under their supervision, with specialised programmes planned over the coming days."
Roberto Firmino has been carrying muscle injury since April
The 27-year-old's last piece of Premier League action was in the 2-0 win away to Cardiff on April 21 and while he did play in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final clash with Barcelona, he could only manage 12 minutes off the bench.
Firmino has contributed with 4 goals and 1 assist in his 11 Champions League appearances this season as well as 12 goals and 7 assists in 34 league appearances.
The Reds began a six-day training camp in Marbella in the south of Spain on Monday ahead of the big European decider against Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Liverpool have had the upper hand against the Londoners this season, beating them 2-1 at Wembley back in September before a win by the same scoreline at the end of March.
The final is being staged at the Wanda Metropolitano, the home of La Liga club Atletico Madrid.
Training camp squad: Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Brewster, Fabinho, Firmino, Gomez, Henderson, Jones, Keita, Kelleher, Lallana, Lovren, Mane, Matip, Mignolet, Milner, Moreno, Origi, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Robertson, Salah, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Woodburn.
