Shelbourne LFC were crowned FAI Women's National League champions on Wednesday night with a 3-1 win over UCD Waves in Santry.
The team, who merged with two-time champions Raheny United in 2015, won the league, with a game to spare. The win over second-placed UCD Waves means Mark Leavy's side can go the season unbeaten if they avoid defeat to Peamount United on Sunday.

After 11 games, Shelbourne are on 29 points. They have only dropped point in draws against Galway WFC and UCD Waves at the start of the season. With just one game to go, they lead Peamount by six points at the top of the table.
All three goals were worthy of winning a league, with Siobhan Killeen, Alex Kavanagh and Noelle Murray all finding the back of the net, on the way to the win.

Shelbourne will now represent Ireland in the Champions League. They will hope to at least match the performances of Raheny United, who reached the Last 32, in 2014.
