Manchester City's Sergio Aguero has been ruled out of tomorrow's Champions League quarter-final against Lyon.
The Argentine striker was expected to come back into contention to play in the game in Lisbon but his manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Aguero is still recovering from knee surgery.
"He is still in Barcelona," the City boss told reporters this evening when asked about his star striker's availabilty. "He is still in Barcelona making a recovery."
Aguero went under the knife in June after picking up a knee issue against Burnley and he sat out their last eight Premier League games as well as their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal and last week's win over Real Madrid in the Champions League.
City have won seven of their last eight matches and are considered strong favourites to overcome the French League Cup finalists but Guardiola insists it's a dangerous last0eight clash.
"Anything can happen, it is a knockout game, but we are ready. The pressure will be there, but it will be for all the other teams. We are prepared.
"Lyon are a tough team with a lot of good players. We have to be focused on ourselves, be prepared and fight until the end to try to win."
